When do we die?

When do we die?

A Poem by Huggy Bear
"

When do we die? Is it when we get shot? Is it when we get stabbed? Perhaps maybe it is when we fall from great heights.

"
When do we die?
Is it when we get shot?
Is it when we get stabbed?
Perhaps maybe it is when we fall from great heights.
My truth on the matter is we truly die when we are forgotten.
We maybe buried and not exist in the phyiscal sense,
As long as the dead are remembered they are not truly dead.
They continue to live on forever
as long as there are people that are willing to pass down
the life story of those that have departed.
So it is proper to say that we do not fear death
We fear of not being remembered

this is how I see death, it's a huge unknown void...
the only thing that would comfort me facing it, would be to be remembered when I'm gone...
being forgotten, being invisible is like not having existed at all in a way...which is what I think terrifies some people...myself included honestly
I enjoyed reading this =)

I don't know. When you are dead. Nothing really matter anymore. For the people left behind they may need a part of you. Many wanted to be remember in the history of time. Left great statues and create great building to keep their name alive. In the end. Your last breath will be the last thing done on this Earth.

I do have to agree with Taylor. This is a wonder piece of work. The message is very powerful and very thought-provoking. I am just a little skeptical on the format. I haven't read the other chapters, but I think this one is more like a poem and it should be formatted in that way. Otherwise, wonderful and a pleasure to read

This is beautiful. Its so true. I would much rather die than be forgotten. I'm going to be a dork and quote Albus Dumbledore right now: "To a well developed mind, death is but the next great adventure." But what is being forgotten? Its being unloved, non cared for, and possibly hated. Thank you for posting this.
