She's My Sister

She's My Sister

A Story by L. T.
"

A story about a parent ruining his children's lives.

"

I never wanted to believe it. My own dad. No, you have to earn the right to have that title. You can’t do something like that and expect me to call you dad again. He tricked me. He tricked everyone. He took her from me, from everyone. He tried to tell me he was helping her.

I’ve been living in denial for months, and I’ve finally accepted it. She’s gone. If she ever comes back she’ll be different. So I’ve lost her. Lost the one person who I loved most. I love you. The only words that could make me feel anything, I needed them to be said by her.

Why? The word had an impact on me, roaring through my brain, driving me insane without knowing the actual answer. Out of all people, why me? I’ve never done anything bad. My family was never that great to begin with. But I actually thought with the little family we had left, he would try to protect it.

Everyone told me he wouldn’t change, even she did. She told me he was always like this. Selfish. Never content until everyone surrounding him was unhappy. I should have believed her, would’ve saved me the heartache in the end. Or at least sped it up.

But I never thought he would be capable of this. Ripping one of the single, greatest people on this planet, and taking her away. Hiding her so no one could find her. I can’t imagine how she feels right now. I’ve gone nights without sleeping, not being able to calm down. The constant fear driving me crazy, not knowing if she’s okay.

She’s incredibly strong. And she doesn't go down without a fight. I just hope she’s alright. I mean I can’t help it. She’s my sister.
