Chapter 1A Chapter by EddieChapter 1.It was a normal summer day. Ivy was on her computer, locked
in her room like usual. But, today was different. What’s different you may ask?
Well, Ivy was doing her first interview for a record company. All other
interviews she wanted to do with other record companies, they all denied Ivy
because of Tourette’s. But this time, she didn’t mention her disorder on the
resume, so it gave her an advantage. Tourette’s made Ivy swear randomly, obscene gestures, eye
darting, cleared her throat, and so much more. Because of those tics, it made
her not have the ability to get into college. So, instead of going to college
to study music first, Ivy is trying to go right into the music industry. As a child, Ivy was a normal child, at least until she was
about 5 or so. She played outside, hung out with her friends from kindergarten,
normal kid stuff. But, when the age of 5 hit, it went downhill. It started with
shrugging constantly, then the eye darting. This all eventually led to hopping,
obscene gestures, and more. Ivy was then taken out of public schooling and was
homeschooled. During those hard times, Ivy started to get into singing.
Singing seemed like the only thing that would take the tics away for a while. Ivy
would even sometimes say to herself “Human beings suffer. They torture one another.
They get hurt and get hard.”[1]
Ivy’s favorite poem was The Cure at Troy,
it always seemed to fit her in some way. © 2016 EddieAuthor's Note
