Look Alive

Look Alive

A Poem by Bree
"

My Chem.

"
Look alive, darlin'
Pretend blood is flowing in your veins,
Pretend your heart isn't beating broken,
Or that you want to smash in your brains.

Open your eyes wide,
And make believe you slept last night,
Instead of letting the monster,
Hold it's grip too tight.

Look alive and,
Pretend that you're sane,
That those scars on your arms,
Were just to heal the pain.

Forget about the unbearable hurt,
And pretend that you wanna be here,
To exist and live life,
When all you want to do is get rid of the fear.

Pretend you can feel,
Make believe you can survive,
Like your own little fantasy,
Where it doesn't hurt to be alive.

But you can't break when your broken,
You can't fool yourself into a sane head,
And you can't pretend you're alive,
When you feel like you're dead.
