Chapter 3 : The Battle Begins

Chapter 3 : The Battle Begins

A Chapter by Jake Murphy

I sit here in the deep, dark forest. Alone, Dazed and confused. Why cant

I get a grip on reality. Why can't I phase back to normal. It's been

three days since I left my family, for solitude. I've used my telepathy

gift to keep track of them. Sam has returned to them. They have been

trying to find me but I'm using one of my uncountable powers to shield

myself from the world. No power, no being can find me now.

I've been keeping track of the Necros to. They have united the guard.

Faster than usual they will be at my house in 2 days. They are working

on a battle plan to deal with us. Not and easy task even if I wasn't

evolved. My brother and Sam alone can take out half the guard but would

eventually parish. Then you add in Hunter. Chances are thats another

twenty-five down. Celeste is faster than all of us but she won't be

strong enough or talented enough in combat to take down a guard member.
That leaves Mikaela. A human, they will save her for last. I give her

one second tops. I shouldn't be thinking this but at least it's a start

of a plan. There's hope if you go by chances that the guard will fall.

Not easily without me. I will return. Today, but not now.

Why have I been granted these gifts. Why me. When I was little my mother

once told me I would grow up to be a being of great power and there

would be a time to use this power to save the ones you love. I tried to

save her. My father had her killed for being a trader to his clan. What

did she do. I wouldn't know. After my mother died I was taken by the

Necros and sent to the other world. The other world is where humans are

taken to be awaken In the life of what they would consider make believe.

The world of magic.

I was already aware of magic my mother a being of light, a seeker and my

father a demon. Seekers have all died off, as far as I know. Seekers

used to work for everyone. The Good, The Bad, and the Neutral. My father

sent all his men on a tyrant and killed all the seekers because they

gave the whereabouts of his clan to the Necros. The last seeker alive

was my mother. I repel my demon side because of the way my father never

cared for his wife at time. She was a seeker and needed to be

vanquished, according to him.

I spent most of my life, training in the other world. The Necros wanted

me to lead their guard. I stole all the powers  , I now have from the

humans there. They all had latent ability's that the Necros wanted to

use. I already had a gift for taking the essence from there blood

without killing them, in turn receiving the gifts they possess. There

was no way to get out of the other world. It is another dimension

created by all three groups. The good, the bad, and the neutrals.

I wanted to leave so I thought of my old home and some how glided there.

Amazing show of power, I thought but the Necros didn't think so. They

trapped me in this device that even I couldn't get out. It was crafted

with all three Ancients power's combined. They knew I needed the essence

for strength not life. So they left me there for a year before I was to

weak to fight them. Some reason or another they decided to let me go.
They made a deal with me. Follow the rules that they set out along time

before me or go back in. I agreed and haven't used major power since

three days ago when I separated Sam and Dameon.

Using that power has changed me, not just to demon form but my whole

insides. I am the great one again. I will not let them take this time.

This time I will decide my life. I must go back and talk with my family.
I glide back into my living room. The house is back together thanks to

Sam. I check for my family. Dameon and Hunter are out feeding. Sam and

Celeste are upstairs talking. Thank the creator that they are not up to

what I would consider no good. Mikaela's in our room sleeping. I realize

I'm still shielding. I release it. Right away, Sam senses me. Both Sam

and Celeste rush down stairs, fast.

“Where have you been, Daddy, I've been so worried.” Celeste says as she

wraps me up into a big hug. I notice she is crying.
“It's okay honey, It's okay.” I try to comfort her by rubbing her back.
Still hugging me she asks. “Answer me, Where have you been and why you

still upset.”

“I've been somewhere in South America. Trying to think Sam.” I answer

Sam's silent question before I continue. “And I'm not upset, I'm

perfectly calm.” I continue to hold my daughter.

“But your still in demon form, dad.” Celeste stated while looking up at

me.

“I know, I thought that would go away with time, but as you see it

hasn't.” I said to both of them.

“It's really good to see, ya, Alex.” Sam said with admiration in his

tone of voice.

“Like wise, Samuel, um, Dameon come here please.” I ordered kindly.
Dameon and Hunter both flamed beside Sam, just across from Celeste and

I.

“Who are you?” Hunter joked.

“Where have you been, bro, not that it matters much” Dameon said.
I sense in Dameon thoughts something I've been missing since not using

my powers. Dameon actually cares about me. That's surprises me a little.

We will have to discuss that in private. Soon.

“I've been around” I joked back to them. “All of you sit, I've got some

issues to discuss but first I'm going up stairs to see my future wife.

Be back in awhile.” I told them.

“Aw, I'm out of here. I did not want to see that image.” Sam said

laughing.

Sam took Celeste by the arm and glided away. I didn't have time to worry

about them right now. The big guys took the hint, gave by Sam, and

flamed out.

I walked up stairs and stopped my bedroom door. I forgot about the form

I was in before I made my plan. I close my eyes. I have to phase back. I

concentrate with all my will. Yes, It worked I'm appear human again. Now

to enjoy, my time with my soon to be wife. I say soon to be wife because

now that I'm using my powers again, I saw our future together. Happy and

free when this battle is over. When that will be, I can not see.

I open the door, slowly. As I peek in, I notice Kaela curled up in bed

asleep. She is so beautiful in her, lacy nightgown. I smell her. Oh, no,

I start to turn again. I have to keep it under control. I take another

long, deep breath. The feeling goes away. I quietly walk over to my side

of the bed. I slip under the covers next to her. She opens her eyes a

little. She is startled by my presence here and starts to get up. I

stick my left arm out and pin her down to the bed gently.

“Be calm, my love, it is just me. I'm so sorry, Kaela. I shouldn't have

left you but I had no other choice. I explain everything later. Right

now I just want to be with you. I love you so much.” I said while

looking at her with all the passion I can will at the moment.

“I love you too.” She responses surprisingly calm.”Give me a kiss. I've

missed you so much.” She continued.

“I'll give you much more than that” I said smiling at her.

I roll her over on her back, with me on top. I support my whole weight

so she doesn't get overwhelmed. I lean in and kiss her passionately. She

responses a little aggressively and kisses my back with all her might.

She rubs her hands through my hair while we enjoy this moment. We kiss

and gently caress each other for what seems like an eternity.

I feel her try to roll me over. I let her and she is now on top. She

stares at me for a moment smiles and we continue to kiss. She raises up

and starts to take off her nightgown. Her heartbeat starts to beat

faster and faster and that does it.

I start to form but I can't stop it. I phase in front of her. She sees

my face and screams. She tries to cover her mouth before the sound comes

out. I know she didn't mean to scream just a natural, human thing to do.

I gently pick her up and set her on the bed beside me and I sit up and

stare at the other side of the room. I'm a monster. Why can't I get

control over this.

“I'm sorry..Kaela.” I tell her slowly with hurt in my voice.

“I can't believe I screamed. It wasn't you. I just wasn't expecting it.

You've never did it before when we made love. I'm new to this magical

world. We can continue. I'd like to continue.” she said trying to

comfort me.

She starts to rub my back and kiss the back of my neck.

“Not like this. I'm sorry.” I said before I glided down to the living

room leaving her upstairs.

My life is ruined, If I can't get a grip on reality. Yes, I'm a demon

but I need to be in human form to function in my normal surroundings. If

I'm to have Mikaela I have to consider my options. Option one is I don't

use magic for awhile and let my body calm down and everything goes back

to the way it was. Option two is I continue to be like this and risk

Kaela's life. Option three and the more likely to happen is I turn her.

I'm apart of a selfish race. I tried to resist that side of me, the

demon half for so long. It's about time Mikaela return the favor. I need

to ask her. I can't just ask her. I don't know. I'm so confused.

"Alex, I'm so sorry I hurt your feelings. I didn't mean to at all, I

swear." Mikaela said right behind me.

I was so wrapped up in thought I didn't sense her come down stairs and

come behind me.

"Sit down, please." I said coldly while looking at the floor.

"Okay." she responded and sit down on my left.

“Listen, Mikaela, I love you so much and I don't want to hurt you. You

have to make a serious choice now. Join me, as I am right now or leave

and never look back. I can't risk your life. The Necros will be here

sooner than expected. I see no other options for you. Please decide

quickly.” I told her bluntly.

“I, I don't know what to say. That's a lot to put on me so soon. My god

you just told me you were a demon three days ago. Now, what you going to

do force me to join you or die. I'd never expect this of you, Alex.

Never.” She said starring at me with tears in her eyes.

“The options were not join or die, my love. You can leave and I can

erase our existence from your memory forever.” I told her.

“I can't see myself without you. I will die if your not here. Even if

you can erase my memory.” she pointed out to me.

“I still don't see an alternative, Kaela. The Necros will most

definitely kill you because your a human that knows to much.” I

explained to her.

“Fine. Do it, change me now. I love you.” She pledged.

“I can't do it. Not in my condition. My energy is too high at the

moment. My blood would overwhelm your body and kill you. Sam will have

to do it, if afraid.” I told her.

“Call him.” she quickly answered.

I called Sam outloud and Celeste and him glided in front of us. Sam was

listning to us. He already knows what he must do. I stand up and turn to

Mikaela. I reach out and pull her up to me. We hug and I picked her up,

so we were eye level.

“I will love you forever.” I said

“I will love you forever.” she responded.

We kissed each other as if it was our last kiss we would have. Which It

could be. I let her down and look at Sam and tell him telepathicly to be

carefull. He nods at me and takes Mikaela by the hand and they go

upstairs to start the process. I look at my daughter.

“Hello, kiddo, how was your day.” I said jokingly, trying to brighten

this long day up.

“Oh, just a delight, Sam and I had a wonderfull time down at the beach.

Oh, which beach you ask. Well one on deserted island somewhere in the

pacific ocean. That's where. I hate hot, sticky, places. I got sand in

my hair and other places I'm not at liberty to discuss at the moment.”

She explained to me about her evening.

“Sounds great, honey.” I told her, not willing to discuss Sam and her

right now. I gave her a huge hug and a kiss on top of her forehead. “I

never tell you this enough but your the best kid a dad could ask for.” I

continued.

“Why you buttering me up, Daddy.” She said smiling up at me. “Are you

going to cancel my birthday party tomorrow or something because it would

be real hard to uninvite over a hundred guests.” She said while

chuckling.

“Tomorrow is your birthday after all and I want to give you your present

tonight. If that's all right with you.” I said ignoring her little joke

about the guard.

“That would be awesome, pops, cause I won't have much time tomorrow to

open much presents.” She replied. “What is it?”

“Your dream. Immortality.” I said giving up the surprise.

“Your serious. Your going to change me to. That's totally freaking

awesome. When? Now? Please say now.” She said excitingly”

“Yes now.” I answered her.

I put my right hand on her chest.”Relax.” I ordered her. I concentrated

hard and transferred just enough energy to kill her but without pain.

There goes the hard part. Continuing the process I went to the kitchen

and got the sharpest knife on the knife rack and a cup. I went back into

the living room and set next to Celeste on the couch. I slit my left

wrist and let myself bleed into the cup. I had to repeatedly cut myself

because I heal so fast. Once the cup was full, I poured it in Celeste's

mouth and made her swollen. Finished, now all I have to do is wait for

her human have to completely die and then heal her back to life. I think

Sam has it easier. He just has to give his blood to Mikaela and watch

the blood to the work. I just had to kill my own daughter.

We finally decided on a plan. We are going to meet them halfway.

Sam and I both saw them make their battle plan, so the four of us are

ready. Dameon and Hunter leading the pack. Sam and I following. The big

guys are intimidating, we believe they will stop and think it over

again, before they attack. We are going to tell them to turn around and

leave us alone there has been no crime. We had a mistake that was

corrected. Plain and simple, right? We all hope so.

The girls are back at

home. Celeste woke up this morning. She kinda surprised me recovering so

fast. She wanted to come here but she said she was into much pain and

disoriented a little. I told her that was probably best she stayed back.

I wanted her to keep an eye on Mikaela. She went through a lot of pain

before Sam's blood finally grabbed a hold of her and she went into a

coma. It will be a few days before she recovers and probably another few

years before she gets controls of any of her special gifts like the rest

of us have.

We are finally at our meeting spot. They got here before we

did. They were marching up when they saw us approaching. I was right the

big guys made them stop and ask the Ancients what to do. Jackson steps

out from the group ahead of us.

“There will be no fight today, gentlemen. If you four sirs will

listen to and accept our proposal, blood does not have to spilled. Will

you listen?” Jackson spoke to all of us.

“I would like nothing better, Jackson. You are the one's who wanted

this. If you want to end it peacefully, by oh means. Proceed.” I

answered. We all were nervous at this point. Waiting to hear what they

had to say.

“Well, Alex, you broke a law. We dispatched this many troops to bring

you in out of respect, not a war. Your very strong, my friend, I had to

bring company, as did you. Our deal is this, help us with a problem we

are having, that we cannot handle and your family and yourself will not

be harmed. We will leave in peace.” Jackson explained.
“What's the problem?” I asked confused. I can't see the Ancients having

a problem they need my help on.

“The other world is being overrun by a terrible clan. This clan is made

up of all the evil creatures we sent there. They plan on taking over the

Kingdom. Your king asked for our help but we can't possible all go there

and return. We are officially asking you. Do you accept?” Jackson

answered.

“If my family and I stay safe. Yes, we will help you. Please leave now

and don't come back.” I said.

“Agreed.” Jackson responded.

Everyone of the guard, except Jackson and Sential, teleported away. The

Ancients also left.

“We are coming with you, to help” Sential said.

“Let's go to my place and talk this through.” I ordered.

We are safe, for now.
