Seed

Seed

A Poem by Erika

Seed.

From a pure and peaceful dark environment into the light of day and the world of chaos
Eyes shut, the new light, it burns
First few minutes filled with unimaginable confusion and blatant communication
Try to speak, instead cries are heard

Seed.

Grown from child to young adult
Not yet fully matured still, new obstacles to overcome
Now it is time to decide your fate

Seed.

Stop, slow down, it’s going too fast
Not ready, and don’t understand.
Slow down, breathe and take a step back
Impossible.

Seed.

It is prominent to choose a fate, now
Quick, before time runs out!
If not, your world will crumble and fall apart.
Not ready, unsure…
DO IT

Seed.

The predetermined course will fail
But why?
The rules were followed, a destiny was chosen.
All was done as asked

Seed…

What a fool.
Choosing a fate in a haste
Failed.

Seed

Look! A light
One that does not burn but brings hope
Follow it.

Seed…

There is still time
A bit behind but you will be alright

Often we are pressured into choosing a path at a young age. For some, it is the right path. For others, the right path is found through the wrong ones first.

Brings memories of my own growing up. Your poem truly depicts a "late bloomer". We are among the few, but we are strong. Very nice poem.
