To Not Know YouA Poem by Brandon Lee HowardThis was a poem I had written to a really good friend of mine, who I had problems with, and I don't know what will become of us, if anything at all. Critiques appreciated.
Selfish tears stream down my face,
Shots of whiskey take their place. Through false inquiries I created this hell; And now I've bound you by inexorable spell. Only now can I realize with all this pain and guilt, That you suffer in silence - like a flower must wilt. "Is it too late to make amends?" I ask, It's really such a burdensome task... To not know you. © 2010 Brandon Lee Howard |
