To Not Know You

To Not Know You

A Poem by Brandon Lee Howard
"

This was a poem I had written to a really good friend of mine, who I had problems with, and I don't know what will become of us, if anything at all. Critiques appreciated.

"
Selfish tears stream down my face,
Shots of whiskey take their place.
Through false inquiries I created this hell;
And now I've bound you by inexorable spell.

Only now can I realize with all this pain and guilt,
That you suffer in silence - like a flower must wilt.
"Is it too late to make amends?" I ask,
It's really such a burdensome task...

To not know you.

A bit short, but it was actually a poem to a friend of mine. I spent all the time I thought was necessary. Please rate and critique.
