Words to Myself

Words to Myself

A Poem by Taylor
"

Words I try to use to strengthen and better the soul and mind.

"

Indelible past, sheath your blood-stained claws.

Release my sides to sooth these hunger pangs.

Aquiline heart, beat steady and true.

Lead me to the righteous spirit, I've begged to become.

Assiduous mind, remain clear and just.

Without you, I'll cease to be.

Garrulous spirit, calm your aching words.

They wallow in redundancy and churn in mediocrity.

Rapacious desire, how you suppurate and tarnish my soul.

No longer shall you cloud the cynosure of life.

No longer.
