Don't Grow Up, It's a TrapA Poem by M.K. JOSEPHNever allow yourself to be shaped by what the world is and what people tell you... Keep dreaming, sometimes dreams do come true... And dreams are for all ages
I used to think dreams were just for the children
Closing your eyes it's all you had to do And in an instant, transition to the world of your making Where all was perfect A world where you were king The impossible became possible I was happy But when I grew up Reality struck and my eyes opened Slowly my perfect world faded In this new world People killed each other for money One starved to death while the other died of obesity You had to know the boss to have employment Justice was served cold On a cold shoulder to those who couldn't afford it All I saw were thieves in suits Yet those in prison were hopeless men striving to survive It was cruel And painful to be But that was reality So when the time came I was forced to make a choice To grow up and face the 'reality' For dreaming is just for the children I chose... To never grow up. © 2019 M.K. JOSEPHFeatured Review
