IN THE DARKA Poem by M.K. JOSEPHI sat on the porch Next to her. Feeling her breaths. Listening to her heart beats. And wishing I could read what she was thinking. In the darkness, a drop fell from above. Onto my club holding hand. Was it raining? I thought. But the skies were so clear, the stars had witnessed my crime. Then she spoke to me, and from her voice, I knew she was crying. I fell down to my knees. Weakened by my guilt. Beaten by her confession How was I to know, that he was her distant cousin? Whom I had stunned to the ground. When I found them whispering in the dark. © 2012 M.K. JOSEPH |
