BETRAYED IN THE MORNING.

BETRAYED IN THE MORNING.

A Poem by M.K. JOSEPH
"

To all who were heart broken, whatever the reason was...don't wait.

"

Always by the riverside, I wait.

For you to appear behind me.

And fold my eyes, and I would tell it’s thee…

From the scent of thy tender flesh.

The skies darken- pregnant with clouds, my heart faint.

Another day without a kiss for me.

One thousand, two hundred and three…

I count since you quit these love so fresh.

The path seems long and lonely.

Without you panting by my side.

Oh! How I miss your laughter…

A voice, sweeter than song thrush.

Why! Why! Why did you have to kill something so lively?

Of two destined to live beside.

I don’t recall seeing your father…

When we made vows to each other, hiding by the bush.

Home is still a long way.

Tomorrow I’ll be back again.

To pay homage to own created shrine…

Where I always wait, where we first met.

First drop falls whilst I’m on the way.

Drenched I get with nothing to gain.

And wash down everything of mine…

But memories of the river, when we first met.
