![]() The painterA Poem by Mufaro Kudakwashe Joseph Mangono
The paintings that portray illusions And the painter that admits the accusations He does so behind the misty scenes So as to disguise his horrible sins He claims he was chosen by fate He claims he is not connected to hate But yet he is the “owner” of the art gallery
He thinks he can justify all nasty pledges With an exaggerated diplomatic edge Of recent his paintings have been a fade I wonder what happened to the red For someone who is into abstract painting It does not justify the pictures he is emptying And here was a painter
You should see the way he walks You should see the way he talks He truly thinks he is a gentleman When he is the famous thief who stole Insane But forgive him for he thinks he is right Right in believing in his might His might as a painter
Meet on the point of obstruction Found on the highway of destruction He is thin why is he not getting fatter? For the case of the missing money is the matter But all is justified under the guise of diplomacy Justified by an invisible autocracy Of the “witty” painter
