The was still isA Poem by Mufaro Kudakwashe Joseph Mangono
Anguished in pain Jimmy is going insane And his rituals and philosophies are now inane His eyes only see evil, inclusive of hate But do not blame the lad for he fulfills fate By the day he is puzzled by questions of doom He would have cried but there be no room And now he is searching the address of death For the was still is
Tears now decorate his face And his feet now protest against his pace With no one on his side it is just he Of love, for him, it will not be For that is where he has been And he did not at all like the scene And now he is out of breath For the was still is
A traitor to the Romeo and Juliet file But at this rate it is only for a while For his promises are not weak Worse still they have reached their peak And in supernaturals lies no solution for him And in anticipation lies no salvation for the whim That is why he is searching for the address of death For the was still is
The seeds of fate have been sown As he continues to play the game as a pawn But it is not till dawn When he realises the rules had been drawn And he thus puts reality to rise Proving to himself he is not that wise And now he tries to silence his breath For the was still is
There be of the Monalisa and Doreen But all be nothing to his Adlynn And then memories are set into spin All suggesting his life is a sin Disaster now makes him a wish Without destination he sails like a fish And now he gazes at his death For the was still is
To this life he is a stranger No wonder he is in constant danger Today advertised as the loner Tomorrow known as a goner And it is all part of the show All part of the flow For he now curses himself under his breath For the was still is
In the agony he does salute Of a life he lives as a mute But passerbies render him mad And the bible labels him bad And the wise say his poetry lacks For all they see is black And now he is a twin of death For the was still is. © 2013 Mufaro Kudakwashe Joseph Mangono |
