![]() I once loved herA Poem by Mufaro Kudakwashe Joseph Mangono![]() I wrote this when I was a kid when l was more in love with the idea of being in love.![]() She resembles the beauty of the sky She has a stare that makes you melt She is as kind as mother- nature that l felt She stole heaven’s beauty without a lie
Even the skies confessed it was rare It is all in her beautiful stare No wonder she is so fair That l know for l once loved her
Her face is still vivid in my memory Even though she has long since sailed And to think my love for her was once nailed Makes me realise why l am writing this story
Even the skies confessed she was rare It is all in her beautiful stare No wonder she is so fair That I know for l once loved her
Her name is Doreen A goddess that could hardly sin She is still my kin And roses and violets know what l mean
For she stole my love something l cannot portray In the name of love the truth l had to say That is why reality confessed of us last meeting in May That l remember for l once loved her
From then to now l dream a beam That flows over blood stained cream That reminds me of an unforgettable stream That which is tearing apart my esteem
For she stole my love something l cannot portray In the name of love the truth l had to say That is why reality confessed of us last meeting in May That l remember for l once loved her
From a lost Valentine’s day Up to now, l think pain still betrays The heart that has long since filtered The love ghost that has wilted In destiny maybe in fate’s cousin also Just because l once loved her
