Sail Away With Me

Sail Away With Me

A Poem by Melody Telleria

Setting sail, the seas are rough,

waves I'm riding on a ship that wails with age

and sea stars hiding on its salt weathered belly,

a kelp infested rampage.

Foam sprayed mermaid guiding into the sunset,

physique of all men's lustful creed,

voluptuous and seductive,

her sculpted mane of beauty cast into the air,

it wraps around the crazed minds of those seeking freedom and flair.

I've taken refuge on this voyage,

a stowaway shivering in the cold and taking warmth

in the promise of a fantastical tomorrow.

Visionary sailing into the stars,

maneuvering through the starlit course,

glowing embers that uncover the secret passage

into my very own never never land, an unreckoned force.

I'll stay young forever,

deny my beauty to passing time,

such anxiety ridden worry on earth

that I shall outsource to narrow minds.

They're concerned with trivial living and heading rapidly into decline.

With swiftness and ease I overcome unwanted obstacles

and take the steering wheel of my ship.

I'm captain of my future, of the history ill leave behind,

sorrowful past is nonexistent, I'm new and pure of mind.

Sweetness glazes the four parts of this polished vessel,

a tempting confection so rich and divine

in its power to transport my unappreciated kind.

Sail away with me, oh lover forbidden to me on earth,

there's a world awaiting us over the horizon and I'm taking all it's worth.

Hey melody, nice to see a new poem up.

Again your visuals are amazing, I mean you literally painted a picture.

I got the impression from this that you were at crossroads, you fought your insecurities and in the end, you found your way back to the path of life.

I think my wording is wrong in expressing what i get fomr this but I basically see it as a struggle between you, insecurities and life itself.

i also see that you look forward to what the future may or may not hold.

I loved this!
