We are no more than words,

upon a birth's certificate paper,

of time lived,

consumed, in the living of life,

that shall see us die,

within the flames of life's,

inescapable end,

that culminates in the ashes' dust

-- of our never having been …

So Philosophical and wonderful write. Enjoyed reading it. "Never having been" - yes, only that we leave behind memories and legacy., In life, as you write - "We are no more than words, upon a birth's certificate paper," that's so true but if we strive to live beyond words and leave our imprints in history, atleast our memories may leave beyond. Some pious souls and great beings impinged in our human histories. Although, easier said than done. for most of us, mortals we are in our thoughts and life. Thanks for sharing, Marvin!
