I write to live and I live to write,

I write of things of deepest night,

I write of dreams to give a fright,

of darkness without a hint of light …

I write of things of horrible sight,

of tainted men with fated plights,

I write of wrongs to be made right,

if one should live to see daylight …

I write of a naive benighted fool,

whose keyboard is his only tool,

to dispel the terrors held so cruel,

rerun's requiems of bloodiest duels:

Savoring all their pain the only rule,

victims butchered in agony's school,

winding up dead is to be a dead fool,

befriending fools his most favorite tool …

Cries for mercy shrieks haunt the night

�" O' that most terrifying time of night,

when one's fate becomes one's plight,

that time of deepest darkest night

�" when nightmares rule!

Your vivid creation reminds me of a video and poem I have titled, "Body Part Soup" so I can relate to your words of horror.

Halloween season is a time to allow the mind and spirit to roam freely across the horizon of creativity as one is perhaps bombarded with gloom and doom in various venues. Several in my neighborhood have rather gruesome displays for view and the movie listings are seemingly endless with tales of horror -
such is the time!

We writers who delve into the arena of fright do so without hesitation, and you have crafted your poem of such with excellent rhyme as it leaves the reader with a taste of "deepest darkest time of night when nightmares rule". It is with good fortune that this crafter does so behind the safety of a keyboard - not likely to get caught, clever is the plot!

My series begins as a slowly approaching and developing storm upon an ever receding horizon (Tale 1: A Writer's Dilemma) that is found to be darkening and denied light of the sun through an experience known as the recurring dream that is the same dream each and every night as a dream that one knows is not a dream (Tale 2: Animal Justice but horrendous events soon to come true ... Sort of like Joseph in the OT, or Daniel in dreams most profoundly prophetic (Tale 3: Ravenous) ... But with the added company of some electriying friends (Tale 4: Wired For Sound) ... Little people in a series of tales that take them and the tale's author on a series of adventures in attempt to save lives, and win the heart of a pretty girl, who has no clue she is in danger, just as was her murdered mother so many years ago (Tale 5: Where Skeletons Lie) ...

I do hope that I have lured you into why Dark World of twisted minds of demented men ...
