How do we not think of death, as it lurks in the distance near, pretending no loss of breath, today, next week, next year?
Always in the future far ahead, do we place that time to go, a million years of being dead, we pretend we just don't know.
Pretending is what we do best, hiding ourselves from the truth, living lives we hope are blessed, for there is no fountain of youth.
Tomorrow is today, a day away, our hope of prolonging the end, over our death we hold no sway, 'cause death just doesn't pretend.
