The Grass Roots sang Let's Live For Today, I listened intently to what they had to say, it was the early seventies and I knew it all, life was about fun and summer never fall,
without a thought of any coming winters, to never realize I was most self centered, there always seemed to be plenty of time, one more night of gettin' high on my mind,
without any thoughts of ever growing old, each day another day yet another day sold, to find that you can never buy back time, life is to end in death and that don't rhyme ...
For to live life as if there is no tomorrow, is to wake up an old man full of sorrows, with no more days to laugh, run, and play, as grass roots scorched by the sun all day,
pleading for just a few more years of life, praying that death will put down its knife, but your time in the sun is over they say, it is time for old men to now pass away,
into a shadow's night of forgotten lands, six foot under ground a most dead man, who wasted life as though it were cheap, for surely what we sow that shall we reap, in sowing tomorrow's today ...
