My coffee grows cold in the cup,

it seems tasteless this morning,

as I sit and think about Melanie1


This sad thought enters my mind,

it breaks my heart to even consider …


She will be in the cold cold ground,

ten, twenty, fifty, years from now,

And, if alive, I will still be missing her …


Missing her! … Loving her! …
