Wandering Wisps of Wafting Flames

Out of the midst of misty murky depths,

my rancid rotting soul crawling crept,

across wandering wisps of wafting flames,

to land in a land of lands with no name,

in idioms of innocent ignorance ignored,

amongst meddling minds mentally bored,

playing pitifully ponderously piously poor,

gagging in reeking regurgitation on floors,

as gasping sucking drawing of breaths,

doth painfully smart of impending death,

and sadness sadly saddens sadder hearts,

having nothing nimble nor nary to impart,

and hell's real reality really becomes real,

for those with hearts with souls to steal,

as wild wandering blank bug eyed stares,

drink in the invitingly invigorating wares,

of fresh meat so sweet to eat raw and rare,

blood so fine like wine and flesh to wear,

with bones so neatly paired in pretty piles,

separating not ones head from his smile,

living life's leavings as a meal's leftovers,

wishing for a chance to die in greener clover,

screaming scrambling and struggling for air,

awakening to thank God 'twas only a nightmare ...

A very enjoyable poem for me. I like a bit of blood and gore. This was a consummate carnivore's heaven. Setting the mood for Halloween, this poem ticks all the boxes. Loved it!
