Within Muddy Puddles Of Wounded Hearts

True beauty is not within the flash,

of a woman's most sensual smiles,

nor in the twinkle of bedroom eyes,

or in her so shapely seductive body ...

Few men are ever blessed to view,

true beauty in its purest of essence --

so often to be overlooked, unseen,

passed by, and so rudely ignored,

in trampling and stumbling over,

to drink from in desperation only,

of thirst's failure in a man's quest,

of discovering pleasanter waters --

she appears as water so muddied,

in life's hand dealing her homely,

a muddy puddle upon this earth,

seemingly meek and ever so lowly,

a puddle which no man desires,

yet a puddle of life to one thirsty,

a man who thirsts for the waters,

of true beauty's essential minerals

-- as dirt always muddies a puddle,

adding to it flavors to be savored --

finding himself pleasantly gazing,

intently into warm murky depths,

to discover a cool drink of water,

so hidden within a beautiful heart --

lesser men see only muddy ripples --

but a calm window of murky glass,

revealed to his open eyes and heart,

as a radiant sweet face shining forth,

from the secret hidden depths within,

to brighten his life as one true friend ...
