Every Life, in clarity's singularity,

is unique in and of itself,

whether such Life be that of

Human, Animal, or lowly Plant:

Leafy Vegetable, or indelibly inedible.

All Life is incredible, inexplicable,

and most of all: Incomprehensible.

Life is blissed as a precious gift,

in, simply, being Life!

Life is but a sand sifting hourglass,

an hourglass that springs to living Life,

in all forms of variety's shapes and sizes:

Some quite big and some quite small,

some quite short and some quite tall,

some quite fat and some quite skinny,

As for given volume of grains of sand?

Some quite few and some quite many.

Life is an indeterminably fragile hourglass,

an hourglass hellbent upon emptying Life,

as sifting sands of time ever passing by,

grain by grain, of moment by moment,

of day by day becoming year by year,

of years in youth lived in elusive illusion,

of time, seemingly, standing still, unchanging,

and so, we think to remain forever young.

Until, we find ourselves suddenly awakened,

as illusion vanishes, to reveal reality concealed:

Time was never standing still, but was slowly,

ever so imperceptibly and near undetectably,

becoming grains of sand that once whispered,

that now shriek to the tune of, “How Time Flies!”

Our life's hourglass, we now view in surprise:

'Tis almost empty, the sand sifting ever faster.

If luckily blissed, we shall soon face old age,

as the last few grains confirm us as mortal, after all …

and that hourglass can shatter so easily before all the sand drops to the bottom.
We never know when that day might suddenly be upon us.
But if we remain young of heart and live each day to the fullest...
we will die with a smile when that last grain of sand falls.

How true… None of us are special but we are all unique in the eyes of the nature like rain drops. Nothing more than that. All other perceptions are the fuss and vanity…

The arrogance of man mystifies me in need of some grand purpose other than to perpetuate the species the same as every other living creature.

On the physical level, life is a continual running out of the sands. However, energy is never destroyed; it only changes form. So the question for us is, is consciousness a form of energy?
