Just Call Me A Wordy-A*s Adjective Man

A Poem by Marvin Thomas Cox-Flynn de Graham
"

Just having a bit of fun with the reality of who & what I am: An Adjective Man (See the works of Thomas Wolfe). We are nothing more than who and what we are ... We can be nothing else ...

"

Sentences are best, when they do not run-on,

paragraphs are better in sentence's dozens,

rather than long-winded barrages of minions.

Just call me a wordy-a*s adjective man,

one who speaks incessantly of unceasing,

but does know that message he seeks to speak.

Call me a Clanger, a harbinger of ominous danger.

Call me a babbler, or a tall tale's gurgling gossiper.

Call me an inanely insane conspiracy theorist,

but what I am is a research writer who does strive

to be nearest the truth when lies are driven away,

when darkness is scattered, to reveal light of day.

Call me what you will, what you might, what you may.

Call me to supper on any month's given light of day.

Call me a fool, an idiot's maroon of imbecile's play.

But I glean facts of substantiality to set on display:

Facts concrete of set before your eyes as indisputable.

The only fools are they who turn a blind eye to reality.

I cause a commotion, because I speak with emotion.

That, my friend, is what adjectives do seek to do:

Convey emotional thoughts of innermost feelings,

that need no revealing of soon being reeled in,

Adjectives, my friend, paint to every page imagery,

and that from a writer's inner most place of within.

Just call me a wordy-a*s adjective man.

I am most pleased of proud that I am:

A Wordy-A*s Adjective Man ...

I agree with you Marvin; I think adjectives portray people, objects, anything you wish to speak of in detail ; to describe a personality, to delve into a person's emotions, one must use adjectives.... or else they are nothings, not known to anyone.... I use them a lot because it's reality for a person's inner self and his/her life. I really like this!

this is fun....I try so hard to get my writing students to use many more adjectives and adverbs, rather than all those words that just delay getting to the point.
this gave me a big smile, Marvin...thank you.
