Count the petals of a flower,

count them all, each, one by one.

Watch and witness their fate,

to fall to the ground in time undone.

Witness the power of a flower,

power to give life to this world,

and, sadly, watch that gift waning,

as each petal meets the day it unfurls …

Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts, Relic ... And yet, it is only Humans who condescendingly relegate themselves to choosing and deciding that which is flower ... Or weed ... Man doth overrate his own self assessed and assumed significance to Life upon this planet, as well as his position as self appointed ruler and designator of fates and futures of the various forms of Life exhibited upon this third rock from the Sun we call Sol and planet we call Earth, names which Man created, in having as yet (aside from that sinister freak of Nature Man refers to as A.I., assured to be the end of all Humanity in due time), having, created nothing but death and destruction upon this planet, and within this world of living creatures (plant & animal alike) in which we live ... However, my late wife of 49 years, I did consider to be a flower and not a weed ... Though, she may well have married one ... LOL!
