Quietly Within The Earth

"

That stupid son of a b***h who said, "Time heals all wounds," never lost someone whom he loved as life itself ...

She lies quietly within the Earth

the Earth which gave her birth via her mother's womb.

Angels do not go to Heaven when they die,

but do lie in graves six foot under,

with stones set to mark their sacred name

as reminders of their visit here,

in blessing the lives of those they loved

and were hopelessly cherished and loved by.

There is no Heaven and no Hell

(no A*****e God anywhere above),

but the loss of someone you loved

as that one true love of your life,

the very air that you breathed

as the thumping's beating of your heart

set on fire of every moment with her,

and her alone!

On one seven twenty two

my life went totally askew,

as the light of my life

left this world forevermore,

to leave me all alone without her,

to live in memories ever sublime

in writing lines of saddest rhyme,

as grief consumes my very essence,

and all for the lack of her presence,

that one woman worth the living for

And what shall I do with her gone?

But seek to honor her beloved memory,

and tell the world about our song,

the song of our love in time well spent:

Time and memories I would not trade

for anything or anyone in this world,

because there was only one you ...

This is a breathtaking, gorgeous poem about something that personally strikes fear into my heart. Losing someone you love like that- you captured it so well. The sadness, the helplessness. Losing your spouse(s) I can’t imagine. I don’t want to. I’m so sorry for your loss. Also, I agree. Time doesn’t heal all wounds. It’s up to us, to try to heal, a little bit. The picture you chose is beautiful and full of palpable, otherworldly love. Thank you so much for sharing. Keep writing. (:

i find that looking back at photos of the past with the one you love the most, is very soothing , sometimes tearful, but mostly a positive pastime. This poem is so nastalgic, so emotional, so beautiful to remember your bride in the best way possible of times. The words flow and the reader fells the love you have for her.
Lovely piece.
Best, B.

you're very welcome!
your poem has me thinking about life/death and dthe passing of the one you loved so dearly.... while I would never recommend living in the past, sometimes keeping those memories alive is a form of healing, not forgetting, but keeping her/them alive in your heart and with you... thank you for sharing Marvin...
