When you leftA Poem by SarahCortlandNot so great needs some fix up
I sat and cried the moment you left
The reality had sunk in at best I realized you were never coming back This time would be different than the rest. I had hoped that you came for peace But my heart had just taken another leap. Why would you do something for me This pain you must want me to keep. I fell to the floor when you left Embarrassed and shamed I had yet again let you in And only I was to be blamed My tears seemed to be their own words Falling to be heard As you took me in your arms once more Then left without a word I screamed when you left With fury at no one other than me I knew I'd fell once again I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever see. My heart seemed more broke this time Leaving me to wonder if it would mend I knew it was too good to be true And I should have put it to an end But I gave up when you left And realized it wasn't just me You knew what you were doing I had been too blind to see © 2011 SarahCortland |
