Unheard

Somethings are better left unsaid but you'll never know what you could have heard

I never saw it coming
How could I be so blind?
I never thought to think at all
The wrongs I couldn't find

I never thought it possible
You were just so right
Everything was so perfect 
I didn't have to fight 

But I woke up one day
You had left without a word
Not a letter or a goodbye 
Your reasons I never heard 

My pain I couldn't express
But I had no choice but to move on 
For it was no longer about just me
I'd found out the day you'd gone 

Years later we crossed paths 
Your eyes wondered to the small hand in mine 
Your eyes looked broken 
But mine were just fine

For you'd left with nothing
But left me with a part of you 
He was worth everything 
And you knew it was true 

I just smiled and the small boy did to
We left you without a word
And got on with our lives
And you were left to regret what you never heard

Great poem...love the flow the rhyming gives the piece. Heart-wrenching story of regret and karma...but at the same time a story of hope. Even though something bad happens, something wonderful can come out of it...Nicely written.
