Through a child's eyesA Poem by SarahCortlandThe things children see
He peers behind the corner
He listens to his daddy yell He's of an innocent age But has lived through hell He watches as daddy hits mommy He cries his silent tears He wants daddy to stop To comfort him from his fears He feels so helpless He wants to stop the fighting He steps around the corner and sees Mommy was gone a terrible siteing He grew up just like him He was as mean as could be He forgot about the eyes around the corner His son who didn't need to see © 2010 SarahCortlandFeatured Review
