She woke up
in a room bathed in the morning sunlight. She inhaled deeply, walked to the
window and drew the curtains. What a treat! Finally, sunlight, after weeks of
heavy rain. She could even hear birds singing in the distance.
She closed her eyes to soak in the warmth of
the morning sun, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee hit her. She followed
the smell to the kitchen, and there it was. The most important person in her
life, standing there, with pots and pans around him, eyes laughing, freshly
squeezed orange juice at hand.
She closed her eyes again. This time to soak
in the perfection of this moment. Yesterday didn't exist anymore, tomorrow was
far away. The only thing she had was now. This perfect fragment of time.
Fleeting, yet forever hers.
And she could feel the light. This time it
radiated from within her soul.
