A Stormy NightA Poem by Nicole Clarice Anna WiestInspired by the one and only, Edgar Allan PoeA storm is brewing In the nigh' Of summer bliss And dying eye The clouds blow east And also west The rain dips down Upon my breast I wish that I Could walk with you Through the coldness And subdue Unto this nigh' And fly away For my life Is disarray I sleep not one wink Past midnight For you have power To ignite The flame within My ghastly soul And even you Cannot console So I will lie awake tonight And wish of birds And calm to flight For I have no words Left To sink in deep For you to hold Now let me sleep A storm is brewing In the nigh' Of summer bliss And dying eye The clouds blow east And also west The rain dips down Upon my breast I now see Forevermore You are now mine To ignore And through the streets Of summer heat I am alone Cannot be beat So finally I come to terms With this life And it confirms Reality As a wicked tale Of loss To prevail
