DarwinismA Poem by Nicole Clarice Anna Wiest"Survival of the fittest" - Herbert Spencer 1864
Pounding Earth shattering Fear apparent in every violent jolt of your powerless body Wishing to escape But wanting to feel The moisture soak through your skin Pelting your every inch Battered and bruised By your own making Street lights spark above A thousand fiery pellets contrasting the cold Tree limbs crash down below your feet The earth is angry Ridding itself of the weak So stand in the midst of it all Neither pleading nor surrendering Letting it be The fittest survivor.
