morning coffee runA Poem by Marc Mccunesaturday morning coffee runmorning coffee run
a sleep in Saturday morn remembering there's no coffee remembering that sign last night in La Grange after movie night... "ESTATE SALE" quick calculation. La Grange, sale, coffee, and Trader Joe's (which was one half of the tale of two groceries)
and the sale yields Popular Mechanics, March 1946 and October 1950 issues. Those, along with parts 54 and 57 of the 105 weekly parts of Story Of Life, 1970. The estate yielding the sale was old. A plethora of ephemera, old postcards, family portraits with no names hundreds of old periodicals and an eclectic selection of newspapers. and me with little time, I could have spent all day.
But I had to complete the mission. Coffee.
and pretzels and cat food.
Trader Joe's was packed with Saturday morning old and seasoned hippies young, up and coming democrats even younger hipsters and me found my whole bean Joe's select. and exclusively at Trader Joe's Pastora cream sherry but only whole wheat or unsalted pretzels?
Fair Play the grocery is also packed with Saturday morning old Polish moms young and struggling couples, blue collars and even younger hipsters, working their day job. found my Snyder's thin Stix and Nuggets pretzels skipped the cheap wine aisle and grabbed the Purina cat chow.
now a breakfast... no wait make that a lunch of Joe's O's and fresh brewed coffee. © 2011 Marc Mccune |
