*~1~*A Chapter by Michelle Raye"Lights! Ready! Instruments! Ready!"His name is Aaron. Aaron Shupe. The famous Aaron Shupe. Famous for what, you ask. Famous at the school for always being in the auditorium dreaming about what he wants. And what does he want? Well, Aaron Shupe wants to be a star. My name is Michelle. Michelle Raye. The soon-to-be famous Michelle Raye. Famous for what? Famous for turning into an invisible new kid that hangs out with the freak right before everybody's eyes. When I had first met Aaron, I never ever thought to associate myself with a boy who spends is time shouting to people that aren't really there. He laughed. "No, no no! I wasn't shouting to people that weren't there!" He continued that laughter. "I was practising shouting at the stage crew I'll have one day. Quite a scattered bunch, really." He smiled. "You see, Michelle," He began, "I dream of becoming a star one day. Although I'm not sure what type of music I'll play. But I assure you, I will be a star." "Why would you want to be a star?" I asked him. "Why wouldn't I? The sights, the people, the music!" He stood up on the wooden stage and spun. "It's all so amazing!" "But the crowds, the paparazzi, those stupid magazines." I groaned at the thought. It just seemed like too much hassle to me to become a star. "And then you have to worry about what to play and no matter what you play there's always a group of people who complain about that type of music..." I continued but my words trailed off. Aaron sighed. "That's my problem. You can't get started if you don't know what you're doing. And what I need to know is what I'm doing. There's so many different types of music..." His words trailed off too. We sat there, silent and stared out at the crowd that wasn't there. I felt eyes on me that weren't his. I felt the eyes of those hundreds of people. Those people that were nowhere in sight. They were all waiting. Waiting for even the smallest move to be made. I was waiting too... He laughed a little. But his laugh sounded sad. "I don't even know how to get started. I don't know what I'm doing. I guess I'm getting in a over my head." He smiled. "Maybe I should start by..." "Maybe you should stop dreaming," I interrupted, "and..." "Never!" He did the same thing to me. "I could never stop dreaming! It's what keeps me sane in this world!" He looked appalled. "It's..." "Let me finish." I said calmly. I think the dreaming was actually making him crazier in this world. Rather than sane. "What I was trying to say was, maybe you should stop dreaming and start doing what you want." And then it grew quiet in the auditorium. He stared at me and I stared right back. And the audience was staring too. ""Maybe you're right. I want to find out what I'm doing for this amazing show." He said softly. "Then let's start at the library. You can start something big with two people, right?" I smiled sweetly. In my words, he knew. I had been sucked in by his enchanting blue eyes. I had no idea what I was getting sucked into. Whatever it was, I was part of this big plan that may or may not work. I sighed and then me and him both laughed. The same day I had met Aaron Shupe I was talked into his dreams. Into wanting to also become a star. Into wanting the crowds, the paparazzi, the magazine covers. And I did truly want it.
