Stars in His Eyes

A dream I had. A boy who had met me on an empty stage.

"Who are you?"

He replied with a smile.

"Why are you here?"

He said, "Stay a while."

 

I sat beside him

On that stage

I felt nothing bad

No pain, or rage.

 

He said his name

But I couldn't hear it.

The silence surrounding,

But the laugh of his spirit...

 

I stared in his eyes

Twinkling like stars.

He smiled at me

It felt like hours.

 

I asked him about them,

Those stars dancing.

He said "You have them too.

I can see them prancing."

 

To this day

I'll look in the mirror.

To this day

I see them more clearer.

 

The stars in my own eyes

The shine so bright

The stars that we share

The stars from that night.

 

His smile is contagious

I giggle and see

The boy with stars in his eyes

Still sitting next to me...
