Father lost, Daughter found

Father lost, Daughter found

A Poem by Victoria Lillian Lewis

In our morbid savage machine
where greedy eyes only see green
And all thats natural slips between
you will find this pair

With his strong arms and dark eyes
he brushes life to the side
he swallows his manly pride
to make this life seem fair

A tiny person in the form of a girl
a new addition to the busy world
a blank slate with a head full of curls
she doesn't know that he is there

And now we must rush to their fate
a destiny formed date
where death took the plate
and now it seemed impossible to bare

A young woman with shallow pools in her eyes
she couldn't form words to express her cries
and soon this young girl saw her fathers demise
she faced the world with a stone cold glare

An endless connection between the two
a father who's tired life was due
and the daughter who found that only pain was true
were left on opposing sides of heaven's lair
