If…

If…

A Poem by Matt Fellows

If it’s worn it’s never been broken,

If it’s torn it needs to be opened,

If it’s consumed by greed then pride swallows,

If it’s love guaranteed then hate follows,

Bend before you break,

If it’s damp it came from dark skies,

If it’s a breath it’s soon gripped by a sigh,

If it’s a crown it’ll be taller than you when on your head,

If it’s renowned then there’s something jealous said,

Warning them because it’s no joke.
