If Only...

If Only...

A Poem by Matt Fellows

If everything I knew was dead,

If I lost my first helping of heart,

If the dreams became reality of my jaw detached from my head,

I wouldn’t mind,

If my delusions melted into my skull,

And my autopilot switched off whilst away from the cockpit,

If I lived until yesterday with a glass that’s half full,

I wouldn’t mind,

If kicking the bucket means I didn't trip over it,

If melting into the sand meant I didn’t have to pick up my phone,

If every time I fell I scraped my head against the grit,

I wouldn’t mind,

I never needed condolences,

F**k you.
