I give up (Poem)

I GIVE UP

Sunshine and rainbows.

That's all that he wanted from reality

But he got over that as his harsh life passed by, drowning all the happiness inside him

He now was a 24/7 machine, working and working day and night

Having no time to let his emotions get the best of him, let alone smiling

The positivity and energy he had before all went down the drain

He only had one wish, and that was to be happy

Unfortunately, life couldn't give it to him

He waited for many years but never got it

Sorrow seemed to overlap it as years passed by

While writing day and night in his diary, his emotions may seem to pour out, but they get drilled back in

He keeps on asking for happiness, expecting it to come any moment, but it doesn't 

But he won't accept that...

He just WON'T

"Oh life... I've always appreciated what you've done for me... 

Just please do me a favor and find me some happiness... cause I can't seem to find it anywhere, no matter where I look.

If you expect me to try again, I won't, cause I give up!"

I think it depends on us whether we want to be happy or not. It's us who is in charge..
