Smile (Poem)

Smile (Poem)

A Poem by Mr.Writer

I walk slowly down the hallway of my school, feeling lonely
I hear the chatter of my fellow class mates
They're laughing, teasing each other and even taking selfies
By accident, I come in one their selfies they claimed to "post" on Instagram
They decide for me to take a groupie picture of them and then tell me to get lost
My fingers tremble, my vision get's blurry, I walk in a zigzag
I knock into my classmate, and he starts to swear directly at me
"Move b****!" and pushes me away
I decide to go talk to Mrs. Smith, but she tells me to talk to a friend
The class gets louder and I try to act "cool" to get some attention
I do get attention, but not the one I was hoping for
I walk away and give up
Tears stream my face
Someone comes up to me and wipes the tears off my face
He gives me a wide smile and I too, give him one

Thank you so much! :) It's really appreciated!!! :)
Relatable and an interesting write.A smile is communicable and spreads happiness all around. But, it shouldn't be just a mask;it should come from within.
Well written! It's not easy to express so intensely what you feel about.
Kudos!

I agree with you
Simple and brilliant. Quite abstract and that's the hero for me in this. Beautifully depicted the transition of hopes and the realisations. Speaks to everyone in it's own way. Very relatable but still very different. Thanks for this piece. Keep up the good work.

Amazing what a smile can do, a kind word or an act of love. All these things can change someone's entire life. I try never to pass someone without any acknowledgment. You'd be surprised by how many people do not know how to react to this. I also like this piece because my wife is a teacher and her name is Mrs. Smith, lol.

Start is not realy so happy. Very bitter words , ugly experience. But that happy twist on the end is so beautiful. There was someone who smiling on you. That s very nice.

Thank you so much! :) I really appreciate it
We all need that person who makes us smile, yet do we think of being that person to others?
I liked the storytelling theme in this one. The last lines sum up the whole poem nicely :)

You're welcome 😊
Oh I remember it well! It is so hard being young! So many emotions attacking you .. and classmats too, and teachers not understanding .. then the tears of dseperation! It does get easier as you grow older. But I thought your poem was very vividly depicted and very moving. I was there with you!
