Do you love me?

Do you love me?

A Poem by Mr.Writer

My parents kept me warm during the storms
My parents kept me safe from the unsafe
They followed me everywhere I went only to prevent what they feared the most
Losing me

From raising me to bathing me
From helping me talk to helping me walk
To even teaching and preaching
Until when? Until when would they understand that I didn't need all this
All I wanted... was their love, so I could fly like a dove

One day, I walked up with courage to ask them a question
They raised their hands in plea not to ask "do you love me?"
I stood there in shock and heard the tick-tock from the clock

I walked while getting stalked home
I walked while getting mocked home
No one understood my pain, while I passed the lane
I soon went on a plain, flying away in vain as the rain came

So we begin with a parents protective wing sheltering their child from the harsh world we live in. You take us on a journey from being so young and the first few lines show their unreseved love. So i was surprised when it came to then line of asking them the question 'do you love me'
Change 'plain' to PLANE.
But saying that, it was still a good read, and even though it ended on a sad note so to speak, the amount of love shown in the fist couple of verses far outweighed the ending.

This is fantastic. I am sorry I don't get why the parents asked him not to ask if they love him. I think I get it, but I kind of don't. It is OK though because this is a fantastic poem. Keep up the good work.

Children get too much cocked up by the over-protectiveness of their parents until they themselves become one and understand it . :) Even i feel it sometimes or the other .

It was a bit confusing as to why they feared of him asking if they loved him. My thoughts put it as he was adopted and they never wanted him to feel such and so they pampered him too much just afraid of the single question "do you love me?"
Overall it was a good one. I liked reading it.

You're welcome..
Parents do love us. Even though we may hurt them number of times. It is not a question to be asked to them we can feel their love in their presence. A nice poem I like that you realize what your parents have done for you.
