Crown of PrideA Poem by simplyDLOne of my old poems I wrote.
The crown lies on the table Its shine and gold still remain The crown is surrounded by glory. Many desire to have this on their heads So others around them shall exalt them For the gold and shine are impossible to resist. As for those who possess these crowns Will tumble into turmoil with jealousy As they glance at others who also have the crown But the most proud will strive to find many ways To lead the rest to a fall So only he would devour all the praise But he will someday realizes That the crown will rust away Leaving him nothing except his pain. © 2008 simplyDL |
