For Jason

For Jason

A Poem by Debbie
"

Written for my son on his birthday

"

In memories of times gone by
Where dreams and truth collide
A tiny, red-head son was born
To a youth and child bride

Those observant oft’ proclaimed
The parents’ love for their child
And the three grew up together
In times often wild

Through many trials and errors
Their love made it through
Births, deaths, loss and gain
As most families do

But life is turbulent
Like hair blown in the wind
Creating complicated knots
And rifts that do not to mend

Most of what’s important
Is left buried and unsaid
And each is left to create
A reality in their head

What is real, what is not
Will never be revealed
Fear, hurt & separate lives
Keep the truths concealed

There is one thing for certain
On which the son can plan
As they loved the baby boy
So do they love the man

Jason must know he is one lucky person to have someone care this much about him. Very good poem.
