Surreal

Surreal

A Poem by Beaudyn

In my dreams, you come to me.
I can feel your presence, every move, every breath.
The heat radiates off your body as you approach me, quietly, like a theif in the night.
Then I feel your tender touch on my shoulder, and I turn to see you.
Your hands hold mine as you gaze into my eyes.
I try to speak, but as my lips part, your lips cover them in an intimate embrace.
It lasts for what feels like hours, in the frame of only a few seconds.
As the kiss ends, I begin to speak again, but you vanish.
A feeling of emotional frustration overwhelms me.
You are gone before I can express to you what I’ve felt for so long.
But I realize that I just have.
You knew how I felt without me uttering a word.
So were you just a mirage?
Or a door opening to reveal my innermost fantasy?
