Quinn's Faith

Quinn's Faith

A Story by Diane
"

This is a little bit from a book I have published, called Quinn's Faith. Sorry, the format is off. having a hard time fixing it.

"
Ajax returned about half past two, dropped
his tool bag by Quinn’s front door, and took off
his heavy work boots and socks.
“Quinn, I’m back. Man, that place was a
mess! Still is, but not as bad,” he joked.
The house was silent. Ajax made his way
to the kitchen, and washed his hands in the sink.
When he was drying his hands, he looked through
the window, to find Quinn ripping up the yard
near the garden. She was using this thing with
teeth on it to tear up the ground. The skin that was
uncovered was gleaming with moisture. She was
wearing something he might see at a running
track, or at the gym. Even though she wasn’t thin,
to say the least, she was curvy and well-defined
from doing factory work for as long as she had.
Ajax whistled loudly, and mumbled, “Dang,” to
himself. Smiling widely, he poured two very large
Mason jars of sweetened iced tea, and made his
way to the back yard.
“Oh, man, hot, hot, hot!” Ajax said, setting
his iced tea down on the patio table.
Quinn stopped spraying water on the
ground, turned around, and looked up at the sun.
“Tell me about it. I’m burning up. It’s hot
out here.”
Ajax laughed, and handed her a glass of
iced tea.
Quinn quickly drank over half of the tea.
“Yeah, about that: I wasn’t talking about
the weather, babe.”
Quinn smiled at the compliment. “What’ll
it take to cool you off?” she replied, with a wink.
Ajax was surprised she didn’t fall quiet on
his cocky compliment. He cleared his throat, and
raised his brow. “I can think of a couple things.”
Quinn flirtatiously giggled, and downed
the rest of the iced tea, handing the glass back to
Ajax. “I can, too,” she said, as she raised the
hose, and pulling the trigger.
Ajax, surprised by Quinn’s unpredictable
action, lost his footing, and fell back, landing in
the mud, with the Mason jar rolling out of his
hand, unharmed. Quinn continued spraying him,
until he swiped her legs from under her, making

her fall. She landed in the soft, muddy, over-
watered garden, next to him. They lay there a

while, after they finished laughing, to catch their
breath.

This was fun, and your descriptions allowed me to see the action unfolding in my mind’s eye. I’d like to read more about Ajax and Quinn.

Thank you, Diane.
I will look for it on Amazon.
I could see it all unfold before me, and smiled when I saw the element of promiscuousness. Such things can occur--of that, I'm sure. Where it may lead... ? Reading with my first cup this morning, this is a good one to start the day with.

I liked this, The playfulness of it. I like the implied, but unstated action that was to come and is to come yet. Nicely done - Diane
