Howling Horrors

Howling Horrors

A Poem by Diane

The unsettling wind made eerie sounds
It was breaking branches all around
Not long after was crunching of the ground
I covered my ears not wanting to hear
My eyes open wide in frights
as new sounds howels through the night

A bang at the door
sends a shock through my core
Whatever it is really wants in
If it succeeds I will be no more
It will leave my bones
Scattered on the floor

I know I'm late for a Halloween reading, but hey, a howling good tale like this is good any time. Hope the door holds--if not, I'd put a lampshade on my head!

Funny how our minds create an emotionally charged atmosphere when confronted with an unknown quantity - this is how your interesting write comes across to me. But we discovered it was only the pizza delivery boy - we feel quite foolish! Great share - :-)

Wow Diane. This is a wonderfully creepy piece. It's fun y how beautiful it is to me to hear these noises. I guess it's a horror-craft thing. Eerie is my beautiful.

Thank you for sharing your own grim thoughts on the subject.

The thought of it is pretty scary. Frightening poems can be fun. :)

You must live in a very different world to us > No banshees or wild bears here

Just gales which blow salt from the sea over the cars and windows > takes off roof tiles > blows over the bins
