Life, light, and strength.

Life, light, and strength.

Angels, Fairies, and Valkyrie too
Gathered today to celebrate you
They come in numbers
From all around
Beautiful creatures carry the crown

The Faries step forward smile and bow
They chant a lovely secret into the ground
Roses pop up full and alive
Roses of colours red, purple, and white
A tree in the centre comes up from the ground
It reaches for the sky but continues to climb
Heavens the destination of its final incline.

Angels are next
They are pure as can be
Fill you with light
For all your good deeds.
One steps forward and holds you close
The love you feel is the highest dose
When she steps back your body glows

Valkyrie wings spread big and wide
She's here to guide you to the other side.
You fought your battle
with strength and pride
You have filled your fate
and now its time
To be wrapped in her wings and take final flight

Valhalla bound... as the faerie folk dance and angels sway... I like the mind's image.

Thank you. I wrote then a couple days after my dear sweet mother in law passed away.
When I began reading this, I had no idea it was about a real person and thought, "This is strangely appropriate for the sad news you shared earlier." Now I see the truth in it. You honor her well, my friend.

I very much like the mythological themes in your writing. I could imagine the scenes in this poem. I could imagine the brave soldier being rewarded and guided into the next life by the Valkyries and seeing all the afterlife has to offer.

I'm sorry to hear that. My thoughts go out to you, for however much that means to you.

Thank you, it means a lot.
A lovely portrayal of some worthy person about to receive his or her reward.
And another of God's children goes Home!
