Lonely Stars

Lonely Stars

A Poem by Mr. Q

Some nights I stare at the sky,
I look up with cheeks stained with tears,
And realize I've started to cry,
The stars that stand above are actually mirrors,

They reflect my soul in countless flickering sparks,
Like my life they shine in the endless dark,
We are both small existences in the infinite expanse,
The sky fills me with a despair that drowns me because it's so dense,
I look, I realize that like me they are alone,
No one that they can hold,
no vows to uphold,
No being that they can seek,
Any life has become too weak,

I stare as tears roll down my face,
There is no mercy no hidden grace,
Because we know that even if we die there is no one to mourn,
Except the nothingness from which we were both born.

Hey again. This is really good. Crushing despair, a feeling of being inconsequential in the grand scheme of the universe or world. Keep it as is. Thumbs up.
