Karate JesusA Poem by Ekai StoneThis poem is about questioning religion and exposing the fallacies within the institutions. I want all of us to seek knowledge.
I've praised the Lord, oh I've prayed galore
Was raised a Baptist and been a witness I've served the church and helped the hurt My faith it grew in spurt But Jesus never saved me No, Jesus didn't set me free His teachings no doubt are divine The wisdom that turns water into wine But shame on the preacher delivering it literally For centuries enslaving people deliberately How dare he! You scream blasphemy! He's going to hell You think it pompously You believe it all automatically But Jesus doesn't save you No, it's not Jesus that sets you free Are you aware of religions history? How do you justify the iniquity? Violence inflicted for religious reasons But our enlightened ones demonized and charged with treason Silence! Screams the heads of church While collecting your money from their perch Corruption should void credibility Instead blind piety gains one equity Rather thank think for yourself and contend You bow your head, pay tithes and pretend That you're going to a place called heaven in the end No, I'm not an atheist Yes, I love Jesus And I'm not being facetious © 2018 Ekai StoneAuthor's Note
