Lest we forget...

Lest we forget...

A Poem by Ekai Stone

Lest we forget
We have been here before
Up until dawn
Leaving nothing unsaid

Here love is ripening

Tender conversation
Each sentence our hearts creation
Still somehow we both still know
In silence exists elation

Here love is ripening

When phoned we answer cordially
Be it a text we reply collegiately
Alone,
We think of them ceaselessly
In person,
May I orbit you constantly?

To avoid the risk of forgetting
Remind yourself that you have been here before
Granted,
Something is different here and somehow
Believing that beauty is the promise of a quality useful to my soul,
Is no longer in vain

Now I must remember
Picturing you as an addition to my life can transcend physical attraction
Because you are the reason a sommelier receives satisfaction

Speaking as a Pastry Chef, I do love how you have blended this. It is a nice mix of sweet and savory.
